YES. I’m going back to school this September 4th! Well, it’s a new uni I’m going to, so I probably will have to adjust for a while because it’s really far from my house. I already have 2 of the 3 textbooks that I need :). I’m super excited, but I’m slightly nervous at the same time. I also have my work schedule planned out already! Woot.
But before all that, I’m going to have to try and survive next week. It’s going to be my first time to work for 40 hours, and I feel like it’s going to kill me. I hope not. Oh well, this means more money! I try my best to balance work and fun though, to help me keep my sanity (or insanity. Whatever).
This week, I went to a cool bookstore with a friend. That day I bought 2 books (+1 textbook from a random seller):
…and that’s all the real life fun I have every week -_-. Lol, aside from going around downtown, I also spend some free time reading Emma Donoghue’s Room and watching a Korean drama called Arang and the Magistrate (which is really cute omg, go watch it)! ^_^
Maybe I should start playing sudoku games during my free time though. I don’t play sudoku, but a lot of people I know do. I know a website that has free printable sudoku games anyway ;D
By the way, I just talked to a personal banker dude the other day, and then I opened a savings account for myself. There were so many terms I wasn’t familiar with so it was just awkward coming in there BROKE and DUMB when it comes to personal finances and other things. It was just. Really. Awkward. Oh well. I’m starting to save up, and I know, I KNOW. It’s going to drive me crazy.
(Oh oh! I’m also looking around for used desks. Just saying.)
I’m so sorry this post is so random, and I’m not making any sense right now, lol :P Smell ya later~
(I really suck at writing organized essays/journal entries, and that’s why I love posting blog entries in list form. I try my best not to EVER do bullet form ones, though! ‘Cause that’s unforgivable. LOL. )
I’m looking forward to all of the things I’m going to do this week. It is going to be a busy and fun-filled one for me! This is such a weird thing to say but… I’m actually trying to get used to having so many people around me everyday. It’s something I have to… actually… live with… *dies* But yes, I guess when we get older, we see people differently:
That might be a joke, but yeah… I’m still not very fond of people in general (something a conceited jerk would say, but, you’ll get it if you’re a little odd like me), but you never know people unless you *gulp* interact with them…
Chiui’s Life: Word Bank Edition (in Reverse Alphabetical Order LULZ) ~
1. Vermelho adj: red (Portuguese)
I was thinking of posting this to my “beauty blog”, but I totally screwed up the site! LOL and I’m not planning on fixing it anytime soon. Anyway, so my red hair has started to fade a little. I’m very sad about it, and everyday I keep asking my siblings if I still have red hair. It’s still red, but it doesn’t look as vivid as before.
2. Posti n. mail (Finnish)
Two weeks ago, our mailbox had been vandalized. I THINK I lost one valuable mail (I’m expecting a shirt which costs ~$50). Haven’t confirmed if it’s really lost or not, but I have a feeling it had been stolen… I’m scared because some people can actually open the mailbox we’re using, and we usually receive important mail. We don’t want strangers getting all our personal information =/
3. Linguistique n. Linguistics (French)
I’m excited to go to school! It’s nice taking the summer off, but I think I enjoy school a lot (and I just really want to graduate soon) so I’m always looking forward to going to school. What’s most exciting is that I’m actually going to be an official Linguistics major really soon (after this semester!) and then I’ll be a step closer to my dreams. You know… whatever those dreams are -_- I just finished looking for copies of required textbooks for school. Yay! School starts next month!
4. Isogashii adj. busy (Japanese)
This week is going to be a busy one. Every week is rather busy for me, but this week my schedule is just PACKED with stuff to do/places to go. I’m not complaining! I’m happy about this =) I have to meet old and new friends, go to picnics, go to school for the textbooks, etc. Next month, I’m going to be busy with school, work, and volunteer activities. Sounds so fun to me ^_^
5. G’lt n. money (Yiddish)
(I have no idea how to pronounce this word. Have fun trying.)
Just because I’m busy doesn’t mean I’m making lots of money. I’m one broke bish. I wasn’t careful with my money last month, so I’m kind of trying to make up for it. Obviously, I am failing. I spend too much, and now I put my textbooks for sale. I hope some people would buy them.
6. Cine n. movie (Spanish)
I’ve been watching movies by Luis Bunuel, father of cinematic surrealism (I heard he was friends with Salvador Dali). Here’s a clip of my favourite scene in what I think is now my 2nd favourite movie, Phantom of Liberty:
My favouritest movie would be, of course, Donnie Darko.
1. Donnie Darko
2. Phantom of Liberty
3. The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie
5. The Science of Sleep
7. Chelovek n. Person (Russian)
Met new friends! I got to meet two Korean guys and was able to practice my Korean ^_^ I’m glad to hear my pronunciation is great and that I can actually have short Korean conversations with them. Yay *joy joy*. Met some other new friends, ran into a lady at the Thrift Shop I volunteered at, and I will meet friends this week! Most people tire me out, but some people are not so bad.
8. Chronos n. time (Ancient Greek)
My life would be a mess if I didn’t have a planner! You know, sometimes I feel like the real secret to success is excellent time management. I wonder if I’m correct.
Special thanks to Google Translate ;D
Now how should I put an end to such a poorly constructed post? Maybe I should end this in an unexpected way or something. Or maybe I can just end it mid sentence like this, because I can’t really think of anyth
