I can sing!

Posted by Chiui · May 28th, 2010 · Filed under Friends in high places

THIS IS A BLOG ABOUT HOW PROUD I AM OF MY VOICE. Yes. I like my voice and I thank God for this wonderful gift. Haha. Remember that fake humility = pride. So me gots no fake humility :))

So today, there was a joint worship celebration. Three churches on one worship service. T’was fun. UAE’s Philippine ambassador was also there. She attended even though she was a Catholic and we were Born Again Christians. Aside from being respectful, she’s really smart, and she’s such a good speaker, too!

I sang Ulan (Rain) at Church for a special number. It’s an original composition by my piano (keyboard) teacher’s friend, but my teacher arranged it. He let me and my sister sing it, with him, my mom and another churchmate to accompany us on some parts. It’s been a while since I ever sang like that, y’know. And then after our song number, everyone kept patting my back and smiling and shaking my hands and all, telling me how much I owned it. I mean, most of the time, my sister and I both get the attention, but this time it was, y’know. ME. Hahaha yeah, Do I sound arrogant? It’s not anything like that. I was just surprised. My hardwork’s paying off after all! LOL And finally, here are people telling me I’ve improved.

After singing, I sat down and was praised about my voice. I actually left and went downstairs after the service and then my mom went to me saying people were asking about me and from what Church I came from, and some people who already knew me were surprised to know that I can sing. Pastors were also asking who we were. Some even told my mom that they felt like they were at some concert. Those people are so appreciative! Like wow. I didn’t get that much attention before! I feel blessed.

Not gonna lie. My voice ain’t like the ones you hear on TV or on the radio. Far from that, actually. But I guess I can sing. It’s just plain like that. I just can sing. :)

I thank God for this amazing gift! :)

Love & Lingo

Happy Hearts Day! (Yes, blame me for publishing this one late =_=)

Well, YES I had a Valentine. Not only one, but six. That would be my Youth Group. We had a Bible Study today, and amazingly all of us were able to talk about how our love for each other (between us and to the other younger members of our Youth group) should be even more manifested and stuff. It was cool since all of us started feeling low because we knew that out Church are having some issues, and then after talking about ourselves through some sincere open talk, we were able to pinpoint something about ourselves that needed to be changed. It was an eye-opening moment for me because I never knew that what I felt about our Church and youth group was also felt by the others. So, I guess there is still this certain closeness within us, and I am very happy for that. :) That talk was full of love, and it was just so amazing that it all happened this February 14th of 2010. Yay!

Now, about the contest, it’s still up and I’m still waiting for other entries! Submit now, lovelies! :D

Anyway, last Saturday our Korean class started. Hyeon Ji (my teacher) gave me this Korean name 박달음 (Park Dah Reum). Oh yeah. I have a Kor name nao. Mehehe! I like how she teaches because I honestly enrolled just to correct my grammar and pronunciation, and she quickly adjusts to my needs. A blessing, indeed!

She told me that I sound like a Korean when I speak, but my accent is kinda messed up so I definitely need some adjustments! We already have 3 assignments for next week. Aaaand we’re gonna study one Korean song per week! This week’s song is Happiness by Super Junior. I like the things that she’s preparing for us. :) Two thumbs up! Hehe :)

Assignments:
1. Watch a variety show and list down 5 phrases/words/sentences that I cannot understand. (This will be easy because there are a lot of things that I don’t understand lol)
2. Learn how to introduce 5 people to the class. (Ah, hard to explain, but somehow it’s like this)
3. Memorize the Alphabet (I memorized it already ever since I studied Korean, but then the names of the letters, I have not studied yet. e.g. Ssangkiyeok for double s..etc)
(4. Listen to Haengbok by Suju) –> easy one. XD

I am already excited for Saturday! Woooh! It’s another Korean class. Hehe! Can’t wait XD

Now if you’ll excuse me… I still have to watch MBC Star Dance Battle. I heard Suju owned so…happy blogging and bloghopping (and commenting. Right there below XD). :P

Cut-out Dreams

Before anything else, I thank Stevevhan for saying I’m one of your favorites. You’ve got weird tastes man, but thank you. Peace.

Expect more major awesomeness from this blog in the following months! I feel sorry since this blog had been such a mess. I’m gonna rearrange and fix things, spend moolah for this blog’s design, bloghop and return comments like a madman. Yes, I’m a whole new being now. I’ve always been saying that my 2010 started with a very big bang that I don’t know how to react at first. It’s like God shuffled everything that I arranged for my life. Meh. There’s a time for everything, but I just suck at those types of exams where you have to arrange the events chronologically, so here I am all mixed up. Still, it’s nice that I can still cope with all of these things happening.

Blessings really pour down, I’m glad. What that Holy Book is saying is very true, though sometimes the verses sound like a joke because everything sounds unbelievably magical. Well, I guess supernatural things are natural. These huge blessings are being poured on me so perfectly quick that I don’t know what to grab hold of first!

That reminds me of telling you about the vision board.

Have you heard of the vision board? Some call it the dream board.  It looks like that one up there. That’s not mine lol. At the beginning of the year, you make a collage (visual representation) of the things that you’re dreaming of achieving. For example, if you want to be an actress, put a symbol on the dream board by cutting a picture of someone who’s acting or probably a picture of an actress. If you want a DSLR, cut out a picture of a DSLR and paste it there. Then if you’re done, put the board (any board! illustration board, etc) somewhere you can always see it. It’s some sort of motivation. According to my Social Psychology class, everyday when you look at it, you unconsciously motivate yourself. This helps you stay focused on what you really want to have and what you really want to do. :D

It really works! And it’s not some sort of religion or something. It’s all in the brain. It’s proven. Actually, this is my first year to start a vision board, and oh my gosh, I could check a lot already. I put in a picture of money and a logo of Paypal (lolz!), and then I got money on my Paypal account! Then, I put in Korean sentences in there to represent my desire to increase my Korean Language knowledge, and now I’ve just registered to a Korean Language Training Program. See? It’s all about keeping yourself motivated and focused.

I think Oprah Winfrey and Mirriam Quiambao make vision boards every year. That’s what my Social Psych professor told us. Even my Speech Communication teacher makes one every year, and she says it’s also working for her. She also told us how it worked on students of the Harvard University.

Make one now! Lol, now I am endorsing the vision board. I’ll post a picture of my vision board next time. :) I really think that this Vision Board is so great. 나만 믿어!

Q’s:
1. How’s January 2010?
2. Are you going to make a vision board, too?
