Studying Astronomy is wonderful. I never knew I would like it this much. Honestly, I only took my Astronomy class because I wanted to stay away from Math courses as much as possible. I’m glad I took it, but now it’s almost over.
Today, our professor said it takes time for the light of the stars to reach us, and when we look up at the sky some of the stars that we see are millions of light years away, which means that we are looking at the light that they emitted millions of years ago when the universe was younger. It’s like looking back into the past. I thought that was wonderful. Well, when I was younger I already learned that it takes time for light from far away stars to reach us, but I never really thought how it is kind of like time travel…
So I guess I’ll just have to look at the night sky whenever I feel like observing part of the the past. I’ll never look at the night sky the same way again.
I’ve always believed in life beyond ours…

I had no idea it was like that but thanks to your blog entry, now i’m informed :) It’s an amazing feeling whenever I look up in the sky especially at night whenever I see stars. I’ve only seen a shooting star twice in my life, though.

That’s deep. I only know the stars are waaaaaayyyy far than we know but only now did I found out it’s millions of light years away. Thanks for sharing. I also think astronomy is an amazing topic! :)
