Let me begin by quoting Kurt Vonnegut:
“He said that if everybody would study science more, there wouldn’t be all the trouble there was.” – Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut
In some ways, I agree with Vonnegut. I still don’t think we have to sacrifice our faith and beliefs in order to study and understand science, but science can tell you a lot of things about the world. It can even teach you things about your life. Now, I am not a science person, but I am trying to make an effort in order to become more aware of what’s going oh, physically, around me.
Stephen Hawking wrote a pretty good book called A Briefer History of Time, which, I assume, was written as simply as possible so that more kinds of people can understand it. It’s mainly about the universe (astronomy) which I find extremely interesting. I suggest you read it! I have yet to finish it.
There are also a lot of sites that post recent updates about the world of science, one of which is SciTechDaily.com. SciTechDaily regularly posts science news 2012, very recent updates about the newest technology, astronomy news and much more. Plus, they have Vistaprint coupons that you might find both helpful and interesting! Science geek or not, I’m sure you will like the content of their posts because the topics are never boring!
